Christmas Maze

This game is based on a Christmas Maze game. I click the start button then it will say a word of the picture that is in the Maze. This game is all about listening skills. I found this easy because my hearing skills are fine. But I never listen when people tell me to do things. This was alright game but I would like to play a game that is different to this. My score was 1234.

For maths I played a game with triangle snowflakes. I just put them into random order. This wasn't fun or interesting at all.

These Hasbro came to our school to build a play house for the juniors to play in. There will be board games to play with. There is going to be free sausages for the builders for helping the juniors.

I made a Kaleidoscope picture. I drag the mouse all over the page then it just makes a picture. I just did a simple flower made out of different colours.

In this game its all about shapes and fractions. I had to figure out what shape is open. I had to find a shape that had a open space. I selected the one at the end. I got it correct and the rakit hit the tennis ball. Went to the other side and gave me a score. The girl on the other side had lost a score and I caught up easily.

Measurments

Walt:

For the last term we have been learning about measurements and angles. We have to measure the angels by using a protractor. I have learned this very well I have learned that 360 is a full circle and 180 is a half circle. Also 90 is a quarter of a circle. I would like to learn about reflex angels.

Christmas Wrap

Room 11 has been decorating christmas wrappings for the christmas banquet. We have been doing this for the past few weeks. I was doing the colour blue wrapping with poke a dots. Using the colour red to make the poke a dots. I have enjoyed this. I have also been doing other amazing ones. We could be creative and do anything with the wrappings.

Walt: solve problems by equal additions that turn one of the numbers into a tidy number.


This game is about place value and adding, subtracting and also using tidy numbers.
I found this easy because 100 cm is 1 metre. My question was "How many metres is 305 cm?". Well 300cm is 3 metres and 5 cm is not counted as a metre. I didn't find this hard to figure out. Next I would want to learn about BEDMAS.

In this game I have to use the numbers that are falling from the brain. Equal it to the number that is given to me in the speech bubble. I found this easy to play because I already know addition. Also the levels become harder and you minus numbers in the other levels.

Walt: solve subtraction problems using place value to partition numbers.

This week in Room 12 maths class we have been learning about tidy numbers. We have been learning about tidy numbers because these things happen in real life. Thats why we need to know things like this. I thought that learning about tidy numbers was easy. Its similar to place value. Tidy number is rounding the number off to the nearest 10. Eg: 12+33=? then what you do is round off the one of the numbers to the nearest ten, so I would use the 33 in to 40 which i'm adding 7. 12+40=52 then you take away 7 because what you did was adding 7 on the 33 to make a tens, so now take away 7 from 52. Will be 52-7= 45 theres your answer.

Savoury Muffins

Today 16 of September we made savoury muffins. In the hall at Glen Innes School. We were divided into groups of 3-5 but there could only be 5 groups. My group was 3 we had to bake corn and cheese savoury muffins. I thought that the kumara savoury muffin looked delicious as the feta and spinach. Me and Tainah took photos of the muffins. They all look yum! I can't wait to eat them. In the end people had to do dishes.

This story is about Celebrities coming on stage to show there talent. Then the audience would vote on a tablet. Only if they want the celebrities audio graph. If they don’t they get kicked off stage. But in the end there was a dog and the audience loved the dog.

In this game I am matching the measurements that are related to each other. I found it easy because I knew that 100cm= 1 metre, 1000m=1k, 1000mil=1m, 10mil=1cm. I found this not hard to play. My level I got up to was 6. My score was 10440 Wow! that was a great score.

This story is about a little family going for a picnic to the beach. They go to the shop just to get magazines, hula hoop and umbrella. Also they get apples, tiny loaf, cheese, black seeds sprinkled on the crust.

In this game I had to chose the proper noun for the sentence. I found this easier than I thought. It's because I knew what a noun was it is related to the name of something. Eg: Chase, Tainah, Andrea.
I didn't find anything complicated that much. My score was 20.

I had Jowly with me to read. I think she was a bit shy to read to me because she is new to this school. I tried to convince her to read a bit loud so I can hear what she is saying. Then I just told her if you don't want to then you just push this arrow when your finish. Maybe next time she would be more confident to read to us.

This was a photo of me and my cousin Drakequin. He read my story that I made about muffins. He was a bit shy at first. But I tried to make him read out loud to me so he can become more confident at reading. 

Math Games: Metric Lenghts

In this game I'm matching the measurements of each one that is related. I found this easy because what I knew was 100 cm=1 metre and 1000 metres= 1 kilometres, 1000 millimetres= 1 metre and 10  millimetres= 1 centimetre. But level 5 was getting harder than I thought, they used 200 metres, millimetres, centimetres and kilometres. Next I think I would want to learn more about this so I can become more knowledgeable about lengths. So it can stick in my brain.

Apostrophe

Walt: identify/discuss the anthers purpose.


This is a game that I played it's all about apostrophe. I had to take a test and pick the right word with the apostrophe that belonged in the sentence. I found it easy to play this because it's just adding the word with the apostrophe. But I got about two or one wrong. But I think I could do better next time. Next I want to learn how to use past tense in my story writings.

The Halloween House

This story was about Halloween happening in the house. There was someone at the door knocking but it was gradually going into a beat. Then there was a snake slithering from the mist. Next, a witch that was 200 years old was peeping through the window. A big long spider with fangs was creeping from the celling. They were all going towards Suzie and Picador. But as they were snake was keeping an eye out. When the three of the creepy creatures just got near the bed Teddy had got up and begins to grow big and bigger. He was terrifying. So the witch the spider and the snake disappeared quickly away. 

Cross Country

Early this morning I was going for a stroll with my friends Semera and Celia. While we were walking we had some nice conversations together. But really we were suppose to be running. 

Dividing by 10, 100, 1000

Walt: divide numbers by 10, 100, 1000

In this game I'm dividing numbers into 10, 100, 1000. I thought this was easier than I thought it would be. It's because divide can be hard with 1000. But I was wrong it's easy. I thought this wasn't complicated at all. At the end of the game I got scored a perfect. That mean's I nailed it! Next I would want to learn my prime or compost.

Walt: study the facts/information

In this game I have been given some words that are related to skin. What I have to do is I read them and listen to what it sounds like. Then I spell the words at the end. Which I'm doing a spelling test. I thought this was easy because I learn't them and try to memorize them. I got all right as well. I thought this wasn't hard. I would want to learn where to place my punctuation. 

Mathletics

Walt: figure out what is less than and bigger than or equal.

In this game I have to figure out which one is the biggest integers. I found this game easy because if there is a -60 with the number that means it is lower that 60 because minus means lower. But if it was -60 and -60 that means it will be =. I think that this wasn't hard to play. Next I want to learn how to add decimals.

In this game I had to figure out what is the missing space that will go into that place. I found this easy because this feels like year 3 and 4's could do. I thought that it could of gave me some challenging sentences to fill in the space. Next I would want to learn where to place my punctuation. 

Fraction Egg Game

Walt: finding fractions of lengths, including seeing when a fraction is greater than one.

In this game I'm trying to place the fractions smallest to biggest. I think this was very easy because I think this would be for year 4 and 3 to play this kind of game. I found this not hard. Next I want to learn my equivalent fractions. So I can become familiar with them.

Walt: draw a brand of a juice.

In technology I was drawing a fruit. I drew a peach as my juice. The name of my juice brand was Iced Tea Peach. I used the site called sumo paint to create my peach drink. I think this was a good drawing of my picture. I like how I used colours that are peachy colours.

In this game I have been given different maths questions to answer. This question I had to answer was "What is 1/10 of 60?" I said 6. It's because how many tens in 60? there is 6. That is how I got the correct answer. I found this easy to do, my score was 15. But I think I could have achieved more. I found this not challenging. But I did find it hard to concentrate. I was worrying that they were going to win before me. Next I want to achieve a higher score than this score.

Activity (Ear)

This is an activity I had filled in. It was based on about ears. But the ear parts inside your ear. There was a cross word to fill in. There was a sheet to fill in you have to name the parts of the ear. I had a sheet that showed me the names of the ear parts. To help with the activity sheets. I found this interesting. It’s because its something new to me for something to learn. I learned a lot of facts about ears.

Math Fraction Game

In this game I have to match the fractions together. Only if they're the same fraction. I thought this was easy because it's like playing memory card. Matching the same things is easy. My score was 51102! I reached up to level 17. I think I could of achieved more. This would be suitable for year 2-4. I thought this wasn't hard or challenging at all for me. 

How do you think N.Z did well in the Commonwealth Games?

England had the most medals out of all the countries that participated in the Commonwealth Games. That's how many medals they had won, which was 174 medals in the Commonwealth Games. But really New Zealand had a advantage of winning because they had a fewer population. Comparing the medal count to the population New Zealand is actually ranked first. The ratio of people to medals is the lowest.

Bite Size Maths Fraction

Walt: find fractions of a set.

In this game we had to watch a video. Then I had to select a button and click on it until it tells me to stop at the denominator, given to me. Then I shade the tenth fraction to make it 10/14. I found it easy to play this. I also enjoy playing this game because I get to learn more about it. My score was 200 so I think I did well. Next I would like to learn more of this to know it mentally.

Road Victim

This is a drawing that I had done. I had to read a poem and then visualise the picture in the poem.
The poem said You survived somehow, against all odds... the men, machines, the tumbling  logs, the fires, the cats, the stoats, the dogs. So why oh, why, did you tempt fate and cross the road to find a mate? I had read that then I had to draw this picture because we are learning to visualise or form a picture in our head.

Sports Retreat 2

This is Mikayla and my sister Melissa posing for the photo. Can you see I'm in the background in the blue and white jumper? This is a nice photo. It looks like the both of them are really  happy being at St Kentigern's College. I thought that Mikayla and Melissa were very good team players. They would let everyone have a turn and they would not make it all about them. I thought that they were the best team players at St Kent's College.
