Tut

Walt: write the story of Tutankhamun. (Tut)

Tutankhamen was the king or  Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. He ruled Egypt  from 1333 BC to 1324 BC.He was 9 years old when he ruled Egypt. He died when he was 18 years old. His mum's name was Kira, the father’s name was Akhenaten. It’s believed that Kira had given birth to Tutankhamun. He had a wife as well. Her name was Ankhesenpaaten. They both had no children.

Tutankhamun died but  there were two theories how he died. It’s believed  that he got hit on the back of his head and his skull  was fractured. The other belief was he fractured his leg and it got infected. Then he died about a few days later.

Tutankhamun tomb was found in the valley of Luxor in Cairo. His mask is found in the museum in Egypt. His tomb was very small because he was slight of build. He was fed very well. Gold was found in his tomb as well and his mask. All kinds of jewellery was found.

Graphics

In graphics, the year 7 students learnt about rules.

Today the year 7 students did graphics. The easy part of graphics was completing the  rules sheet. The rules were respect, being responsible and how you sit when you do graphics. We had to do this sheet. It was a bit challenging for me because I was trying to rule a straight line but I couldn’t even do a straight line. We had to just trace or copy what Mrs Nobel did.  I was unsuccessful because I struggled to draw a straight line. I want to practise to draw straight lines.

Wylie

Walt: retell the story.

Wylie was hungry. Wylie then went flying around Egypt to find something to eat. Wylie then saw a lizard and swooped down but then the lizard was to quick it ran in between the rocks. Wylie was getting frustrated and  was unable to come up with a solution. Wylie noticed that everything was covered with thick layer of the dust from the sandstorm. Wylie said to himself however is he going to find something to eat because of the sandstorm.

He flew back and forward swooping down for a closer look. He landed on top of the Great Pyramids. He could see miles from up there. He saw the Nile Rivers. Wylie thought that he could find something there to eat. So he went flying towards the river. Wylie saw lots and lots of fish. He tipped his head down, pulled his wings in tightly to his sides and swooped down to the river. His talons stuck out in front as he glided quickly above the waters of the river.

He grabbed a Nile perch in his claws and instantly flapped his wings, climbing higher into the sky with the fish held tightly. The fish was wriggling and squirming, but Wylie kept on flying until he got on top of the Great Pyramid. He flew back home and went for a sleep.

He finished eating the fish and fall asleep.

Rippa Rugby

Walt: use emotions to describe playing sports.

Rippa rugby

Rippa Rugby was so amazing, it made me jump like a frog. Devonn passed the ball to me and I ran like a cheetah. I felt like I was the fastest in the world. I didn’t get a try, I was so disappointed in myself. People were yelling at the person that had the ball, saying pass the ball here and there. I felt like I was in a tournament. I was imagining that people were around in a circle cheering for the red team. The coach blew the whistle. We passed the ball around and around.  Blue gets a point. My heart was pumping like a machine gun. The coach said it is the red teams ball. We ran on touch five, but still didn’t get a try. It was blues ball and Tainah had the ball. I raced to her to rip her tag off, but Alisi trip on me. I felt like I had lots of bruises on me, it was so painful. I had a good game at the end.

Walt: Using tidy numbers

The answer for this is 340

This week I have been using tidy numbers.I used tidy numbers to work this problem out.
I first did 85 x 4= which then you have to figure out which is the closest number to 85 and you take away or you add. I took away . Then I did 80 x 4= ( 8 x 4 ) = 320. There’s
5 left. 5 x 4 = 20 add it all up 320 + 20 = 340 there’s the answer. I want to learn how to do algebra.

Rain Poem

Rain Poem

Rain, rain, its always raining,
Rain, rain, I end up saying,
Rain, rain, please go away now,
Rain, rain, just leave right now
Slipping up Slipping  down
What’s going on right now.
Help, Help
I've been punched by hail stones.
Please
give me a break !!!
